CiDi Collaborates with Chengdu Communications Investment Group to Assist Saudi Arabia in Upgrading its “Smart Transportation” System

On December 4th and 5th, CiDi (Chengdu) Technology Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as CiDi) and Chengdu Communications Investment Group were invited by the Municipal Department of Hail Province Amana and GE-environment to participate in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Clean Forum held in Hail City.

This forum aims to:
- Enhance the quality of city services
- Promote transparency in municipal management
- Optimize waste management systems
- Organize and implement city cleaning projects according to the highest quality standards
- Exchange experiences and successful cases among cities
- Strengthen connections among cities
- Face challenges and overcome obstacles
- Review future plans and investment opportunities in the field of waste management to promote the development of the city cleaning system in the Kingdom
Representatives from the Saudi Ministry of Municipal and Rural Affairs, the National Waste Management Center (MWAN), the Riyadh Municipality, the Jeddah Municipality, and the Dammam Municipality attended and participated in the forum.

CiDi, in collaboration with Chengdu Communications Investment Group, jointly introduced the “Chengdu Solution” for the handling of construction waste in Hail City, Saudi Arabia.Crystal Huang, Senior Advisor of CiDi, presented a 20-minute keynote report on this theme at the forum. During the session, CiDi. elaborated on a city-level construction waste recycling management platform based on intelligent interconnected devices, emphasizing a comprehensive management plan covering administrative management, source governance, waste transportation, recycling utilization, and government monitoring to achieve full lifecycle management of construction waste. They also shared the Chengdu case. The report received high recognition from the Saudi government, which expressed interest in replicating this model in Saudi Arabia to create a waste management solution that ensures “Comprehensive management in one network, maximizing resource utilization.”

Post-event, a team from CiDi engaged in in-depth discussions with the National Waste Management Center (MWAN) regarding waste resource utilization and transportation in Saudi Arabia, as well as the Hail City pilot project. The National Waste Management Center (MWAN) indicated that Saudi Arabia’s solid waste governance is transitioning from “unregulated discharge” to “resource utilization.” As a national institution, MWAN will fully support CiDi and its partners’ collaboration with GE-Environment, drawing lessons from Chinese experiences, and provide necessary policy support to amplify the project’s impact. They hope to replicate and promote the initiative nationwide in the future.
